One of East London’s oldest pubs, The Spread Eagle in Homerton, has turned fully vegan for 2018. All food, drinks, fixtures and fittings are also plant-based and sustainably sourced where possible.
The new vegan menu is provided by Club Mexicana, famous throughout London for their Mexican-inspired street food. Full details of the menu are still to be confirmed, but it will feature a selection of tacos, nachos and burritos including the “MFC Torta”, a Mexican fried chick’n Torta with annato glazed fried chick’n, mustard mayo, dill, pickled cabbage and lettuce.
Club Mexicana say on their Instagram “we’ve teamed up with some old friends to bring a Hackney boozer back to life, and we couldn’t be more excited to launch!”
The drinks menu is also 100% vegan, featuring rotating cask ales that are naturally brewed without the addition of finings, hand selected small batch wines and a carefully curated vegan cocktail list.

The new menu launches on Friday 19th Jan, then the kitchen will be open weekly on Thursday’s & Friday’s 5pm-10pm, Saturday’s 12pm-10pm and Sunday’s 12pm-8pm.
